Girls in STEM at BYU-Idaho: February 2, 2024
Our world is becoming increasingly more reliant on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. White Pine feels it is crucial to encourage and empower young minds, especially girls, to explore these fields.
One remarkable imitative is the BYU-Idaho Girls in STEM Day. This event serves as inspiration for our middle school girls, sparking their interest and fostering a passion for STEM disciplines.
Historically, STEM fields have been male dominated, with women underrepresented in various scientific and technical professions. Encouraging girls to pursue STEM education is not just about bridging the gender gap; it's about unlocking the full potential of our society.
Diversity in STEM brings different perspectives, ideas, and approaches, ultimately leading to more innovation and comprehensive problem-solving
Our girls were able to participate in hands-on experiences, have exposure to STEM role models and sow the seeds for a more inclusive and diverse future in STEM.
